Week 3 Theme: Easter/Spring

 

Day 1: Colourful Background with Silhouette

What you’re doing:

Today, you will be painting a colourful watercolour background and then cutting out black paper in the shapes of various plants and animals. Glue these on and create a nice spring silhouette.

Science. Discuss the animals they’ve chosen and how they’ve adapted to live in this habitat. Discuss plant growth and life cycle.

Day 2: Spring Stained Glass

  • Black A4 paper
  • Tissue paper/colouring paper
  • Glue sticks
  • Scissors

What you’re doing:

Today, you will be making some spring stained glass art. Cut out a design on the black paper and glue tissue paper on the back. Put it on a window to make a beautiful piece of stained glass.

Day 3: Spring Wreaths

  • Glue

  • Colouring pencils/felt tips

What you’re doing:

Today, you will be creating a spring wreath! Paint a paper ring and then decorate it with cut outs of flowers from tissue paper or colouring paper.

Day 4: Abstract Lines Painting

Required items:

  • Blank A4 paper
  • Watercolours
  • Paper towel
  • Paint brushes
  • Water pots
  • Cellotape/masking tape
  • Ruler

What you’re doing:

Today, you will be creating a watercolour resist painting! Take long pieces of masking tape and stick it onto the paper to create a cool design. Afterwards, paint the remaining space with the paints. When the paint is dry, remove the tape to see your design!

Day 5: Spring Mosaics

  • A4 paper
  • Pencils
  • Squares of paper
  • Glue stick

What you’re doing:

Today, you will be creating a spring mosaic! Cut paper into small squares and glue it onto a piece of A4 to make a nice spring creation.

History. Roman mosaics are really incredible pieces of art and were important decoration in Roman homes.
