Exercise of the week: Breathing through your nose!

Take a second to notice your breathing, do you breathe through just your mouth, just your nose or both?

Many people breathe only through their mouth, which in fact limits their ability to use their entire cardiovascular system. You were made with a nose and nasal passage for the sole reason of taking in more oxygen to your lungs, so please use it!

If you don’t currently use your nose to breathe, it’s okay, it’s never too late to start. If you start to train your body to breathe through your nose when you exercise, you will quickly develop the strength of your lungs.

Take a seat somewhere and take a few minutes and see how well you can breathe with your nose by just focusing on your breathing.

Next, try to do some of the exercises of the last few weeks: child’s pose, shoulder rotations, the inchworm, and even jogging on the spot- and start by breathing through your nose and when the exercise gets hard breathe through both your nose and mouth together.
